Eight of these specifically equipped for drag racing Shelby Cobra Dragonsnakes were built. Seven of them with 289 engine in varying tunes from 270 to 380 hp and one single car with 505 hp 427 engine

there were 7 Super Snakes ever built, with 3 or 4 remaining, as there is a car thats unaccounted for (so i heard from an ex shelby employee).

the Dragon Snakes were totally different beasts from the Super Snakes. The Super Snakes were Supercharged 427 side oilers that were good for an awe inspiring 1220+hp and 1100+ft/lbs of torque.

the Dragon Snakes were for race use only, and the remaining number isnt completely known as far as im aware. No Super Snake ever had a 289.

No worries I lusted over those things for like 2 months looking at reviews and squealing like a girl when they came on sale I mean it's a sub 10 quartermile made in the 60s

I admit I'm not sure I would think so since 3 of the 8 were standard ones outfitted later with a drag pack but I couldn't tell you for sure.
